Well your question is sort of ambiguous, but I can provide some basic tips.

A slow internet connection can be cause by many problems, some of which you have no control over. I am assuming that you have a DSL or cable internet connection based on your speed test results. It could just be that you are running at the maximum capacity of you current connection. Another possibility is, if you have a cable connection, that you node (Cable internet connections are shared between all the houses in the neighborhood) is experiencing heavy traffic. One other thing to note is that the speed test you used measures you connection speed, but not necessarily you actual throughput to a real server or website. You can take the UberPC.org Speed Test (http://www.uberpc.org/speed-test) here to get a more accurate result.

These are some basic steps you can follow to increase you internet speed.

  1. Scan you PC for sypware / viruses, they can slow down the entire computer.

  2. Upgrade to a faster plan that your internet service provider (ISP) offers.

  3. Switch to a ISP that provedes faser service.

If you provide some more detailed information, such as you internet service provider and computer details (CPU, OS, etc.), we can narrow down the source of the problem.
